Your Baby
While continuing to plump up, the baby is sensitive to the world around him, responding to light, sounds, and making faces.
You
Holy sciatica! Are you feeling pain, numbness, or tingling radiating from your buttock down your leg or in your hip? It can be dull or stabbing. Constant or intermittent, and it can make you miserable. Sciatica in pregnancy is cause by your uterus pressing down on your sciatic nerve. Try using a heating pad, taking warm baths, sleeping on your opposite side, and make sure you mention it to your doctor. The pain will most likely subside toward the end of your pregnancy as your uterus shifts position, and should subside completely post pregnancy.
If this is your first baby? Now's a good time to enroll in a birthing class. There are many types of classes out there, and your healthcare provider can steer you in the right direction. Most will help you alleviate fears about your delivery, recognize the signs of labor, determine a birthing plan (drugs or no drugs?), and decide whether you'll be breast or bottle feeding.
