Your Baby
With all of the rapid organ development, and in-womb practice, your baby may be able to survive outside the womb. (Week 25 remains the official viability week.) The baby's once wrinkled skin has filled out with weight gain, and there is little space left inside the womb.
You
Wake up sleep head! Many women find that around this time they begin to have an increasingly hard time sleeping (for long periods of time that is). Frequent urination, anxiety, and general discomfort may be causing you to wake at night. Just look at it as though your body is preparing you for night feedings once the baby is born. And get your rest where you can.
Between weeks 24 and 28, your doctor will most likely order a glucose tolerance test to determine if you have gestational diabetes. This type of diabetes is temporary and can affect your baby. It can usually be controlled through proper diet and exercise.
