You are in Week 17 of Your Pregnancy
FIRST TRIMESTER SECOND TRIMESTER THIRD TRIMESTER

Size: 4.4 to 4.8 inches
Weight: 3.5 ounces

All of your baby's organs and structures have been formed, and a period of simple growth has begun.

Your Baby

While most of your baby's organs are in place, he's still very thin and lanky. During week 17 your baby starts to form fat. This is vital for the baby's heat production and metabolism.

You

Did you feel that? It's 'round about this week that you might feel a light flutter (the quickening) as your baby's bones begin to harden enough to pack a punch on your uterus. If you haven't felt anything yet, no worries, ordinarily, women begin to feel their babies move by 20 weeks. Contact your doctor if you don't feel anything by then.

Feed me! You may also have noticed an increase in your appetite as your baby gets bigger and hungrier. Eat when you're hungry, but don't slip into a feeding frenzy. Stick to your healthy diet; you've got a ways to go yet, and you don't want to pack on too much weight too quickly.
