The neck gets longer and pulls the head further up away from the chest.
You
Break out the charge card; you're finally starting to look pregnant and some maternity (or at least elastic waist) clothes are in order. Why now? The top of your uterus (the fundus) is rising up from below your pelvic bone and into your abdomen.
As far as sleeping goes--do whatever's comfortable. You do have major blood vessels in your back, and sleeping on your back can cause your uterus to press down on them hindering circulation, but you don't need to worry about that just yet. Besides, your body will let you know when to give up back sleeping; it'll simply be too uncomfortable. You may want to invest in a wedge or body pillow to make you more comfortable on your side, as this is the position you'll find yourself in most as your pregnancy progresses.
