You are in Week 3 of Your Pregnancy
FIRST TRIMESTER SECOND TRIMESTER THIRD TRIMESTER

Size: .006 inches

At this point your baby is still smaller than the period at the end of this sentence.

Your Baby

If you timed it right, sperm has just recently fertilized egg, and you’re pregnant! At conception, your baby’s genetic makeup is already complete, and its sex has been determined, by Dad. How’d he do that? Well, Moms can provide only X chromosomes; Dads, either X or Y. If an X sperm has fertilized your egg, it’s a girl (XX). If a Y, it’s a boy (XY).

In the third week, your baby is already on the move. Within 24-hours, the fertilized egg begins to rapidly divide into many cells, and then this tiny cluster of cells travels down the fallopian tube to the uterus.

You

Though you may well be, it’s still too early to tell whether or not you’re pregnant. It’ll be a week or 2 before you’ll be able to confirm your pregnancy (a few days after your first missed period), but you may want to buy an at home pregnancy test now, just to be ready. And remember to stick to a healthy diet and take your prenatal vitamins.
