Active Learning presents enrichment summer camps include USA Chess National Chess Tour and Video Game Creation.
Chess Camp:
Campers experienced tournament chess professionals travel from city to city teaching children of all ages and abilities the game of chess. Campers skills are designed to improve weather children are interested in casual or competitive chess. Instructors use a range of teaching tools including demo boards, worksheets, stories and historic games to keep class time exciting. Chess provides children with higher problem-solving abilities and higher testing scores. Patience, creativity, long and short term planning, good sportsmanship and understanding consequences are skills utilized in chess that transfer well to all aspects of school and life.
Video Game Creation Camps:
Campers will learn to use Game Maker software. Children actually design and create their very own "one of a kind" video game. Our unique lessons teaches introductory programming skills while encouraging creative thinking. Our goal is to provide each camper with a very fun, memorable and educational experience.
