Summer 2014 at Boston Ballet School offers a wide range of dance programs for ages three through sixteen at state-of-the-art facilities located in Boston, Newton, and the North Shore. We not only provide exceptional ballet training, but also introduce students to a wider world of dance through an enriching curriculum guided by Boston Ballet School’s expert faculty.
Ballet Stories (Ages 3-4)
Each day children take a 45-minute creative movement/pre-ballet class. After a short break, they will explore a classical ballet through the characters, story line, music and mime. The stories will come alive with the students' own natural curiosity and creativity.
Ballet Journeys (Ages 5-7)
Students begin with a classical ballet class followed by a ballet workshop focused on creative expression and movement. After a snack break, they will explore other styles of dance, such as jazz or musical theater.
Summer Dance Workshop (Ages vary by studio, 8-14)
SDW provides exceptional ballet training, while allowing students to also explore the wider world of dance in a creative, friendly and fun learning environment. Led by Boston Ballet School faculty, the morning session focuses on ballet training, including technique and classical repertoire. The afternoon session will include enrichment classes to supplement the ballet training, reflecting Boston Ballet School’s year-round program. For example, character dance, modern techniques and musical theater among others. Beginners Welcome!
Master Class Series (Ages 12-16)
This program is designed for both boys and girls to continue their training and stay in shape. Each technique class will include boys work and pointe for girls, taught by a member of Boston Ballet School’s faculty. Previous training at an intermediate level is required.
