AROUND THE WORLD IN 5 DAYS (JUNE 17 – 21)
This Trip we're traveling to France, Russia, Spain, Asia, and Italy. Learn about their favorite foods and how to prepare them and of course enjoy tasting them!!! We will learn about cultures, special ingredients and cooking techniques in different countries, so it will be an amazing Trip for all the Aspiring Chefs!!! Some of the dishes we will learn to make are bruschetta, lasagna, cheese quesadillas, guacamole, homemade salsa, crepes, French onion soup, wonton soup, chow mein, potato salad, piroshky, pina cota and Italian cookies and much more. This camp will give your child a taste and cultural spice of all the different countries.
THE WORLD OF EDIBLE ART (JUNE 24 – 28)
If your Chef loves to use his/her imagination, be creative, have fun, and make art out of food this camp is for him/her. In this fun and very innovative camp your young Chef will learn how to make edible art. Some of our fun projects will be vegitable and fruit puppets, strawberry mice, butterfly cheesewich, antipasti tricycles, olive penguins, banana caterpillar, fruit flowers, art picture you can eat, and much much more. This class will excite your child’s imagination and surpsise his/her taste buds.
AMERICAN FOOD TOUR (JULY 1 – JULY 5)
Come travel with us around the U.S. to discover the regional American Cooking. We will be
making everything from Southern favorites to classic New England fare. Everywhere you turn there is something new and delicious to try in our great country. Some of the great recipes Include southern fried chicken, chili, fish tacos, Cobb salad, peach cobbler, homemade mac & cheese, southwest marinated flank steak, turkey burgers, chocolate chip cookies, new England chowder, strawberry shortcake, blueberry pancakes, chicken stew, omelet's, homemade fries, rosemary roasted chicken, banana bread, blueberry pancakes, Caesar salad and much much more!!
FIVE DAYS IN ITALY (JULY 8-12)
Learn the culture of Italy and its many regions. Learn about their basic ingredients and where Parmesan cheese came from as well as prepare many of their authentic dishes including spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce and meatballs, bruschetta, minestrone soup, pizza, Italian cookies, garlic bread, pane cotta, apple strudel, risotto, frittata and many other tasty Italian treats!
THE GOURMET BAKESHOP (JULY 15 – 19)
Cookies, tortes, brownies, fruit tarts, chocolate strawberries, crème anglais, and so much more!!!! Get your aprons on we're baking gourmet treats for everyone. You will learn great tricks, techniques and the art of HEALTHY baking!!! We will learn desserts from many different countries as well as American. Some of our desserts will be cheesecakes, pana cotta, Italian cookies, cupcakes, sweet crepes, fruit tart, meringue cookies, lemon pie, cherry/apple strudels, brownies, soufflés, etc. So if you have a sweet tooth this one is for you!!
THE FOODS OF ASIA (JULY 22 – 26)
Have you ever tried Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Burmese, Hong Kong, Filippino food? Join us for the week of delicious foods of Asia with all its wonderful flavors, culture, spices, and recipes to explore. We will make many authentic Asian dishes like pad thai, chow mein, pho bun, Burmese chicken curry, coconut soup, chicken teriyaki, and wonton soup, friend rice many others for you to prepare, taste and enjoy!!! Come tickle your taste buds!!
BON APPETIT! (JULY 29 – AUG 2)
This week is filled with savory French dishes from many different French regions. We will talk about French food and French history and its culinary life. Also, many important classic culinary techniques are learned. Come learn and (taste) the best of what France has to offer. Some of our dishes will include French onion soup, oven French fries, meringue cookies, chocolate tart, pear salad, almond crusted chicken, crepes, soufflés, beef bourguignon and many other favorite French dishes!!! This class will make you say "Tres Bien!!!"
IRON CHEF CHALLENGE (AUGUST 5 – 9)
This camp is filled with many secret ingredients and friendly competition. Recipe building, team building, friendly competition and many recipes will be learned, prepared and experimented here. There will be fun role playing as a judge, Iron Chef, Teams, etc. What a fun camp for everyone!
LET’S THROW A PARTY (AUG 12 – 16)
This camp will show you how to throw a great, fun and delicious party. We will learn everything from menu planning, to themes, to recipe selections, to table setting, picking out party colors, decorating prepared recipes to look presentable and appetizing and how to plan each recipe portions. We will do many recipes from appetizers, salads, main dishes and of course dessert tables. Come enjoy this fun, educational and delicious camp! Some of delicious menu examples are mango marinated kabobs, brie pastry cups, crostini with dip, brushetta, melon and prosciutto, mini tarts, cream puffs, chocolate covered strawberries, and bite size piroshky, crepes with fillings, etc.
