FREE TO BE YOU AND ME
Marlo Thomas conceived a children's book that, instead of telling boys and girls who they should be, would open them to the possibilities of who they could be. She gathered many of her supremely talented friends from various worlds of the arts and the remarkable result is highly regarded as a modern classic of children's literature. Life-enhancing themes are imaginatively blended with music and humor to expand children's personal horizons, enabling them to invent their own futures without limitation, while dispelling some old constraints and worn-out conventions in the process. Parents, teachers and other grown-up friends will delight in sharing this extraordinary and memorable experience with the children in their lives.
Session 2: July 15– August 3
BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
The best — and worst! — of both worlds meet when fantasy meets the harsh reality of school in this toe-tapping, pop musical adventure! When Cinderella’s stepsisters find a portal to another world, they get zapped into a very real high school and decide to never return. After all, in this world, mean girls are popular! A comically ambitious Woodsman who dreams of being a storybook hero pursues the stepsisters to bring them back and recruits the help of Danica, a hard-core realist who never believed in fairy tales and only sees the dark side of life. Meanwhile, the fairy tale world is left in shambles with the Woodsman gone ...Little Red is attacked by the wolf, and Sleeping Beauty keeps pricking her finger on the ax while chopping her own firewood! It’s time for the princesses to become their own heroes and discover that they can take care of themselves! Kids will love this delightful show while simultaneously learning valuable life lessons about what it means to be alive, the pursuit of dreams and controlling your own destiny.
