Sing Out for Spring at The Hudson River Museum

Celebrate spring the Spanish way at The Hudson River Museum. From 12:30 to 4:45pm on March 21, local Hispanic/Latino groups and museum staff present "El Dia de la Primavera Fiesta" (Celebration of the First Day of Spring), a folk-rich celebration of the First Day of Spring – the original Earth Day.

Have fun at this day of music, crafts and traditions from South and Central American countries. From 1 to 3pm, Aurelia Fernandez conducts piñata workshops while flamenco dancers and Latino musicians present a lively show from 1:30 to 2:15pm. Don't miss the dance concert by Orlando Marin, "the Last Mambo King," and his five-piece group in the grand finale performance from 3 to 4:15pm.

Throughout the day, junior docents and members of Groundwork, Yonkers, a community garden project, help visitors make wooden planters and plant seedlings that can be taken home.
