NOMINATE YOUR COMPANY
All nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2007.
Welcome to the 2007 Colorado’s Best Companies For Working Families recognition program. Colorado Parent™ invites you to join us in celebrating the program’s 11th anniversary by submitting a nomination form for recognition as a family-friendly business in Colorado.
This program has been developed to highlight family-friendly workplace practices as effective strategies for improving the productivity, stability and morale of employees. In today’s competitive business environment, employers have to be creative to attract and retain a qualified workforce; companies with workplace policies that help employees balance work and family responsibilities gain a competitive advantage. Each work environment is unique and has to be managed to reflect the needs of the employer, yet within that structure it is always beneficial to adopt family-friendly policies and practices.
All companies that submit a nomination form before the June 15, 2007 deadline will receive community-wide recognition for participating in the Colorado’s Best Companies For Working Families program by being listed in the Colorado Parent Web site at www.ColoradoParent.com. Those companies that are chosen as finalists will also be honored at a special awards luncheon program on Friday, September 14, 2007, at The Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver. Plan to spend the day at The Brown Palace and participate in the Q & A panel discussion and our Business Expo as well.
Participation is open to all private and public organizations located in Colorado. Once again, we will evaluate nonprofit organizations separately from for-profits. As nonprofits often face a unique set of financial and organizational circumstances, it seems fitting to give them the opportunity to be assessed as a group. This year, nonprofits will have the option of being evaluated with other nonprofits, or being evaluated with other companies of like size. The goal of the Colorado’s Best Companies For Working Families program is to recognize a wide range of companies that meet or exceed a community-wide benchmark. No matter what your company’s size, there are family-friendly policies and practices that are appropriate for your type of business.
Nominations will be evaluated based on the number and type of benefits and practices that are in place to help employees balance their work and family commitments. A volunteer committee of local business and community professionals will select the top winners in each category. The categories are broken down as follows: Small (1-99 employees), Medium (100-499 employees) Large (500 employees) and Nonprofit. The number of employees is based on the worldwide count of individuals working for your company. Finalists will be chosen on June 27, 2007, and will then they have until Friday, July 20, 2007, to complete a comprehensive online entry form, which will be available on June 27, 2007. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on September 14, 2007, where the winning company from each category will be given the opportunity to speak for 2 – 3 minutes from the event podium.
