Finding great programming for children has changed significantly for the better in the four years since my team and I started judging the NAPPA competition. This year we were astonished at the amount of excellent programming. This made selecting the “best of the best” an enormous challenge – particularly in the under-5 age range. It took our jurors more than 400 hours of evaluation to finalize our winners.

We evaluated each program for its appeal, production value, quality of content and overall benefits – whether it provided pro-social role models, had educational merit, was purely entertaining, and how engaging it was for both adults and children. A new twist to this year’s selection was our separation of independent releases from the big studio productions. There are many delightful “indie” titles that we’re proud to introduce as NAPPA winners. Check out the fine titles below – you’re in for a real treat!
