Movie Review: Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo, the newest release from Disney/Pixar, creators of Toy Story, A Bug’s Life and Monsters, Inc., is the story of father and son fish named Marlin and Nemo. The two are separated at the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is whisked away from his dad and dumped in a fish tank in a dentist’s office. Trapped like … well, like a fish in a tank, Nemo is held captive, where he meets Gill, a tough-talking fish who wises him up to the ways of life inside “the tank.” Fortunately, he also meets a pelican with an interest in dentistry who tries to help him escape.

Meanwhile Nemo’s dad, who hates leaving his home waters, must brave the open seas to rescue his son. Accompanied by a friendly-but-forgetful fish named Dory, Marlin sets off on an epic journey worthy of Odysseus. The cast features such stellar voices as Albert Brooks, Willem Dafoe, Geoffrey Rush and Ellen DeGeneres, who claims to have spent six months living in the ocean to prepare for her role. Rated G. Based on Disney/Pixar’s previous track record, this film should be a lot of fun for kids and adults alike.
