Homemade Baby Food Recipes


If your baby is getting tired of the same ol' store-bought baby food, spice up his life and test out your own recipes! We talked with the makers of the Baby Brezza, a one-step babyhomemade baby food food maker that steams and purees delicious homemade meals for your baby, to get the scoop on some good recipes to feed the little ones. 

All of these recipes are easy to make and your little one will love testing out all these new flavors. 

Avocado and Black Bean Dip
(12 months+)

Yield: 1 cup

  • 1 tablespoon of finely chopped onion
  • 1 small garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ cup canned black beans
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 tablespoons of cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt
  • Pinch of cumin
Place all ingredients except the yogurt into the bowl, steam and blend for 10 minutes. Once pureed add yogurt and blend completely.

Hummus and Tomato (8 months+)

½ Cup Low Sodium Canned Chick Peas
½ Cup Chopped Tomato
½ Teaspoon Cumin
  1. Add chick peas and tomato to bowl.  Steam for 15 minutes.
  2. Pour out all but ¼ cup residual water, add cumin, and blend for about 45 seconds or until puree reaches desired consistency.
  3. Serve on a spoon for young babies or with veggies as a dip for toddlers.
Cranberry Sauce

  • 2 cups cranberries
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar (depending on your taste preferences)

  1. Place cranberries and sugar in bowl. Steam for fifteen minutes.
  2. Serve  as is (for older kids and adults) or blend to desired consistency. If  not blending, stir to mix flavors together. Yields about 1 cup.

All American Turkey Dinner (10 months+)

Yield: Approximately 1-1/4 cups (11 ounces)
1/2 cup raw ground turkey
3/4 cup diced sweet potato
1/2 cup cooked brown rice, not packed
1/4 cup dried cranberries

1. Place turkey and sweet potato in machine and steam for 20 minutes 
2. Add rice and cranberries and puree to smooth (approximately 90 seconds).
