Healthy Raisin Recipes The Kids Will Love!

Raisins may seem like a bit of a boring snack, but not anymore! Our friends at California Raisins have shared some fun and easy recipes that any kid will love. 

Apple-Raisin Mini Pizzas

2 baked mini pizza crusts
3 tbsp. apricot spreadable fruit or preserves
1/2 cup finely chopped apple
1/2 cup California raisins
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Heat toaster oven or regular oven to 375°F.  Place pizza crusts on small tray for toaster oven. Spread with spreadable fruit or preserves.  Sprinkle with apples, raisins and cheese.  Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated and cheese is melted.

Makes 2 mini pizzas (1/2 pizza per serving)

California Raisins Peanut Butter Roll-Ups


  • 6 whole wheat flour tortillas (8 inches)
  • 6 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 12 tablespoons California raisins


Warm tortillas on a hot griddle to soften enough for rolling. Arrange on cutting board and spread 1 tablespoon peanut butter evenly over each. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of raisins evenly on top of peanut butter. Roll up tightly. Slice diagonally 1/2-inch thick. Serve immediately or wrap and pack into lunch box for later.

California Raisin Rice Cake Doodles


  • 10 multigrain rice cakes
  • 2 cups California raisins
  • 5/8 cup peanut butter or cream cheese (1 tablespoon per rice cake)
  • 5/8 cup shredded cheese (1 tablespoon per rice cake)
  • 1-1/2 cup various vegetables such as broccoli, radishes, zucchini, carrots and celery
  • 1/4 cup various nuts such as almonds, cashews, pecans and walnuts and seeds
  • Different shaped pretzels, gold fish, sesame snacks for decoration

Use the rice cakes as the base for the doodle, and use the peanut butter or cream cheese as the glue. Design the rice cake with a variety of toppings. Be artistic and remember to taste your creation!
