Farmers’ Markets
Puget Sound consumers are lucky – every summer new locations seem to be added to the local crop of farmers’ markets. June is a prime month to visit. A resource that lists harvest schedules, recipes and fun farm facts is the Puget Sound Fresh Web site. Along with an easily searchable database of farms, crops and farmers’ markets, the site also educates consumers on reasons to buy locally and to preserve farmland. http://dnr.metrokc.gov/wlr/farms.
