Don't Wait! Get Help Early On for Child's Struggle with Reading
If your child has difficulty learning to read, here are some good reasons to consider getting help early on:

90 percent of children with reading difficulties will achieve grade level in reading if they receive help by the first grade.

75 percent of children whose help is delayed to age 9 or later continue to struggle throughout their school careers.

If reading help is given in the fourth grade, rather than in late kindergarten, improvement takes four times as long.
