Pregnancy Warning Signs

Certain signs during pregnancy may indicate possible complications. If any of the following occurs, call your healthcare provider immediately:

• vaginal bleeding or spotting

• swelling of the face, hands and lower extremities


• severe, continuous headache


• dimness or blurring of vision


• flashes of light or dots before your eyes


• continuous or intermittent abdominal pain


• severe or continuing nausea or vomiting


• chills and fever


• burning pain when urinating


• leak or gush of liquid from the vagina


• fainting spells or loss of consciousness


• premature labor


• sudden burst of fetal movement


• lack of fetal activity for 12 hours
