Easter Eggs Could Be Hiding Bacteria
Hard boil eggs until both the white and yolk are completely firm. (Place egg in enough water to cover it; bring the water to a boil, turn off the heat and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.)
Choose only food-grade dyes for decorating.
Discard eggs that crack while you are cooking, coloring or hunting for them.
Hide eggs in places that are protected from dirt, pets and other potential sources of bacteria.
Don't leave eggs out of the refrigerator for more than two hours - even for the hunt! Cooked eggs can be safely stored in the fridge for up to one week.
