Do Parents Pick Favorites?

In his recent article in Time Magazine, Jeffrey Kluger has stirred up a bit of controversy by asserting that parents are hard wired to favor one child over the other. In his book The Sibling Effect, Kluger gets some parents to admit that they favor one child over the other.

Kluger told MSNBC that “It is my belief that 95 percent of the parents in the world have a favorite child, and the other percent are lying." As the parent of two daughters, Kluger adds somewhat candidly, “The only exceptions are my wife and me.”
